My Shepherds Pie

Hey everyone, it’s me, Dave, welcome to our recipe site. Today, we’re going to make a distinctive dish, my shepherds pie. One of my favorites. This time, I will make it a little bit tasty. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Here is a shepherd's pie, made easy, that your family will love. This is a traditional-style shepherd's pie like my Mum used to make, but completely vegan. All amounts are approximate and can be altered to your tastes!

My Shepherds Pie is one of the most well liked of current trending foods on earth. It’s simple, it’s fast, it tastes delicious. It’s enjoyed by millions every day. They are fine and they look fantastic. My Shepherds Pie is something which I’ve loved my entire life.

To get started with this particular recipe, we have to prepare a few components. You can have my shepherds pie using 8 ingredients and 9 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make My Shepherds Pie:

  1. Prepare cream of mushroom soup
  2. Make ready ground beef (or ground turkey)
  3. Get corn kernels, drained
  4. Prepare mashed potatoes (such as the Idaho pouch) or your own mashed potatoes
  5. Get onion, chopped
  6. Prepare garlic powder (or more or less, to taste)
  7. Take salt (to taste)
  8. Prepare pepper (to taste)

This isn't Shepherd's Pie, it's Cottage Pie, Shepherd's Pie is made with lamb, Cottage Pie is made with beef. But saying that, this is nowhere near what a Shepherd's/Cottage pie should be. It's a chilli with mash and cheese on top. Also, to Lilybelle, there shouldn't be creamed corn in Shepherd's/Cottage Pie either.

Instructions to make My Shepherds Pie:

  1. brown / cook the ground beef and onion together, then drain the grease and return to pan
  2. add the garlic powder, salt, pepper, and can of mushroom soup to the ground beef and mix until heated
  3. make the mashed potatoes as directed on pouch or box (serving for 4-6)
  4. spoon the meat / soup mixture into the bottom of a casserole dish
  5. pour the drained can of corn onto the meat mixture
  6. spoon the mashed potatoes on top of the corn and meat
  7. cover with cheese (I didn't advise how much because it depends on how much and what type you like.)
  8. bake at 375°F for 20 minutes or until cheese is thoroughly melted and browned or bubbly but not burned
  9. enjoy!

This Easy Shepherd's Pie includes mashed potatoes, veggies, meat and more. Shepherd's pie is traditionally made with a ground-lamb filling, but we make ours with ground beef. The sauce is really simple and flavorful, but the best part is the insanely fluffy mashed potato. The "traditional" Shepherds Pie was made with minced lamb because that was abundantly available, England didn't have lots of cows but there were plenty of sheep. My mom was British, I was born and lived in England, but when we moved to America even my mom made it with beef and still called it Shepherds pie.
